SSE Pacifico is led by an experienced and dedicated locally-based management team to contribute to the development and management of offshore wind energy in Japan in pursuit of a net zero future.

Dai Karasawa
CEO and Representative Director
Dai Karasawa succeeded Mike Seaton as CEO and Representative Director, SSE Pacifico K.K., in July 2024.
Dai started his professional career in 2002 when joining Itochu Corporation to engage in investments in solar module sales and power plant development companies. After that, he joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 2011 and led IPP in Europe and the Middle East as well as finance operations related to acquisition of solar power plants. In 2017, Dai was appointed as Deputy CEO of Diamond Generating Europe BV (Netherlands), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, and led offshore wind farm development and new business development in the power sector in the Netherlands and the UK.
Dai joined Pacifico Energy as COO in 2019 to oversee offshore wind power development, as well as construction management, asset management, and the financing of solar power stations while supporting Hiroki Matsuo, CEO of Pacifico Energy.
When SSE Pacifico was established in October 2021, Dai was appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of SSE Pacifico, and responsible for leading project development.
In July 2023, he was appointed as President, SSE Pacifico, and he has been responsible for all of SSE Pacifico’s business.
Dai graduated from the Faculty of Letters, the University of Tokyo.

Kentaro Hayashi
President
Kentaro Hayashi has been appointed as President at SSE Pacifico K.K., since January 1, 2026.
Kentaro Hayashi brings over 15 years of extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure and energy investments. He began his career in 2006 at Itochu Corporation, where he focused on EPC projects and investments in petrochemical plants. Following a tenure in investment banking providing M&A advisory services, he joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 2013 to lead the development and investment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects.
In 2021, he moved to Ørsted Japan, where he was instrumental in developing and bidding for Japanese offshore wind projects. He joined SSE Pacifico in November 2023, serving as Senior Bid Manager and subsequently as Deputy Commercial Director responsible for procurement and bidding.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Commerce and Management at Hitotsubashi University.
